Offshore Supply Base
SIM is dedicated to establishing a world-class Offshore Supply Base (OSB) in the Ayeyarwady region of Myanmar. The role of an OSB in the oil and gas industry is to support offshore drilling activities by providing facilities such as:
- Berths for supply and construction vessels
- Cranes and lifting equipment
- Helicopter rescue facilities
- Waste management
- Oil spill equipment, food, water and diesel supplies
The site for the Ayeyarwady Offshore Supply Base (AOSB) is strategically located within the heart of upcoming offshore drilling activity. There are six offshore blocks within the immediate service area of AOSB.
SIM currently owns 184.3 acres of land in the Ayeyarwady region of Myanmar. This land has received a permission order from the government to “utilize the farmland in another way except to farm”. Furthermore, of this acreage, the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) has permitted 49 acres to be used for OSB use. The Company will initially establish the Ayeyarwady Offshore Supply Base (AOSB) on 30 acres, with 19 acres reserved for future expansion. The remaining 135.3 acres of land is reserved for a proposed future LNG Terminal.
